Don’t we all wish to wake up to mouth-watering hotel breakfasts?
Hotel breakfasts are a must for a hotel lover. My top moments during a hotel experience always include my first eye contact with The Bed, a glimpse at The View and then all the Hotel Breakfasts that I will enjoy either by exploring an awesome buffet or nibbling from a luxury tray that will have landed on my duvet cover.
I have given a lot of thought to it and this is how I would describe breakfast perfection: a long and lazy meal with lots of treats I’d never have at home, healthy options and organic menus, local products and traditional dishes, instagram – friendly eggs and pancakes with maple syrup, freshly made croissants, not to mention a hot cup of Earl Grey tea, fresh fruits and juices.
There were several times in 2016 I approached this perfection. So find below my top hotel breakfasts for the year:
This was a glorious summer morning when I enjoyed a great breakfast with many delicious local fruits and hand made pies and jams, in Kinsterna Hotel, at Peloponnese.
At Hotel de Vendôme
As parisian as it gets. This is how you start your day at Hotel de Vendôme in Paris.
I got up early that December morning at Intercontinental Le Grand, in Paris and preferred to have breakfast in the room in order not to be late for my morning appointment. I really enjoyed my Eggs Benedict and this amazing Parisian view but I didn’t manage to be on time for my meeting…
At Ornos, one of the most beautiful bays of Mykonos, I had a delicious breakfast combining classic dishes with traditional Myconian products.
A bottle of fresh milk, an inspiring read and my sunbed by the pool were all I needed that spring morning which felt like summer…. That came of course after scrambled eggs with bacon and a bowl filled with yogurt and fresh fruits.
At Totem Hotel
This is one of the yummiest breakfasts I had in 2016. At Totem Hotel in Madrid, I had the chance to try an excellent avocado toast, poached eggs with local ham as well as a traditional snack made of toasted bread and a spicy tomato sauce.
At Poseidonion Grand Hotel at Spetses, you can choose what you like from a rich buffet and then go on and order some more from the a la carte eggs menu. A truly gourmet experience!
Cocomat Hotel in Athens offers a big selection of heathy treats including greek herbs, home made cereal bars and dried fruits and nuts. It also boasts The Honesty Bar which is there anytime you want to drink or nibble on something
At The Margi
This was a chance for me to pamper myself, relax and have a long and lazy breakfast in bed and I wouldn’t miss it for anything!
