This was my second Tweed Run experience and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. This perfect setting is Spetses and its emblematic Poseidonion Grand Hotel, an island and a hotel that I personally adore.
This was my second Tweed Run experience and I enjoyed it as much as the first one.
Tweed Run, an event that has to do with old school bike riding in tweed outfits and that takes place in various cities of the world, has found an ideal location in Greece. This perfect setting is Spetses and its emblematic Poseidonion Grand Hotel, an island and a hotel that I personally adore!
So, on the 14th and 15th of April, Poseidonion Grand Hotel in collaboration with the Bike Museum welcomed once again the joyful crowds and their bikes, all dressed up in tweed clothing.
I enjoyed the ride, the picnic, the strolling on my favorite island and most of all, my stay at a historic hotel which combines all time classic charm with updated luxury, since it reopened, fully refurbished, in the summer of 2009. What I like about Poseidonion is that it is a real trademark of Spetses, a hotel with a history that goes back 100 years, yet it is friendly, airy and open to all island visitors, with a hospitable veranda and a palm filled garden serving cool refreshers, light snacks and gourmet dishes all day long. One can see the glorious past of the hotel, looking at lovely details that are around (such as the floors with the traditional tiles, the old phone machine behind the reception or the big book of the 20’s with all the guest charges) and at the same time enjoy a perfectly modern pampering!
