Checking in at the Athenian Riviera and the Margi, a hotel that offers the perfect setting for a summer preview.
Athenians are lucky enough to experience a summer preview from early spring thanks to Vouliagmeni suburb. A few minutes away from the city centre, in the so called Athens Riviera, Vouliagmeni boasts a beach lifestyle and an exotic sea view one can find on greek islands.

The Margi is a well known luxury hotel of Vouliagmeni, full of design details all over its spaces, suites with superb views, a famous bar and a glamorous pool that is now being upgraded.
I was there for a short time but managed to relax and say goodbye to the winter in the best possible way.
I also discovered the history of The Margi Hotel which is strongly linked to that of the Athenian Riviera, that first emerged as a vision in the early ’60s.

Both Athenians and the press were then more than eager to see their very own “Côte d’ Azur” emerge only a few kilometers away from the city center. It took a few years to plan and begin the development of the new Athenian tourism infrastructure and some of the city’s most iconic hotels were built in that era. Doctor Yancos Stavridis, supported by his wife Aikaterini, was the founder of The Margi Hotel and one of the men who shared the vision of creating an Athenian Riviera.
Since today, The Margi has been a perfect getaway, offering exquisite service, stylish rooms and cozy lobbies and is also a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
