From art and poems to macarons and hangover kits!
As a hotel trotter, as soon as I enter a much-anticipated hotel room I always scan every little corner in order to discover details that will reveal more about the character of the place. The best hotels are these which manage to surprise me with original gifts and cool stuff like the following:
The memorabilia
Playing cards with the cool typography of The Nomad Hotel (created by the Parisian design office be-poles) looked like something I would definitely like to have from a hotel with a unique character. Same goes about The Nomad Cookbook!
The cocktail kit
A complete cocktail kit in the room of Providence Hotel in Paris was the answer to my dilemma: stay in and enjoy my suite or go out to the city and have a drink at a bar?
Sweets before sweet dreams
Grace Santorini has taken surprise to a whole new level since their “turndown service” is accompanied by several things left for guests at their rooms every evening. The best thing I found during my stay there was a glass case with huge chunks of chocolate inside together with a hammer for me to use “in case of emergency”.
