Stylish summer vacations: What to wear in Greece
You know that you have a really good time during your summer holidays when most of the day you hang around wearing a sarong. Kridemnon scarves have been my favourite since they were created a couple of years ago. They are made of soft cotton and feature colorful patterns, inspired by traditional greek embroidery motifs. The Maan Dress
Wearing the Maan Dress at Chic Hotel Santorini
Maan is a greek brand, specialized in islandwear and this says it all. This summer, apart from amazing bikinis and one piece swimsuits, I found the most versatile dress of the season, a long strapless dress that never crinkles in the suitcase and can be worn on the beach but also in the evening! An eclectic, fresh beach couture collection, suited for the authentic, low-maintenance yet vivid lifestyle of a greek island in the summer. The clothes you need for long barefoot walks on the beach, lazy sunset watching and endless island exploring. MAAN was founded in 2014 by Athens based designer and creative director Marilena Andreadi.
Polca dots by Caroline Constas
Caroline Constas is a newcomer that quickly became a favourite designer of the insta – girls. This greek designer is based in New York and creates luxurious, flirty collections that are available in top e shops like Netaporter. I fell in love with a polka dots top with puff sleeves that proved to be a real head turner! Constas channels a woman’s wanderlust season after season. Inherently wearable and ideal for travel, each piece speaks to the jetset lifestyle that Constas conveys
There are loyal fans of the greek resortwear brand Ancient Kallos everywhere in the world. This summer most of them wore items from the new collection “Syko” in all sunny destinations (just click on the hashtag AncientKallosSyko and see). Inspired by the scent of the fig trees under the Greek sun, their new print Syko” (fig) has been designed exclusively for Ancient Kallos and applied on the finest extra light cottons. I adored my halter neck dress from the Syko collection and wore it at many occasions as it is the most elegant option for an event!
Αncient Kallos is also my personal favourite Greek resortwear brand. It draws its creative inspiration from ancient Greek beauty, its very name deriving from the ancient Greek word for beauty, “kallos”.
I have been wearing Ancient Kallos caftans and embroidered tops and dresses since their first collection in 2014.
The Kimono by Mitos
My beach wardrobe has to be as relaxing as my sun tanning sessions. This is why I always take with me an airy kimono to wear as a cover up. This summer my favourite kimono was one with lovely geometrical patterns by Mitos, a greek brand that I also love for its embroidered bikinis!
The Artpeckers backpack
This backpack traveled with me everywhere! Created by the up-coming brand called Artpeckers, it even has a detachable case which can turn into a stylish clutch for your evening walks!
ArtPeckers items are all based on research and testings, made of the most high-quality materials, always eco-friendly. Furthermore, part of their philosophy, is to support local economy by cooperating with suppliers established in Greece. Check out their website and see their collection of jewellery made of wood.
The Artians prints
Greek interior architect and fashion designer Konstantina Kampisopoulou is the face behind the brand The Artians that you can find at Fever Showroom. The Artians, as a name, inspired by Arts, has been presenting for 4 years now collections of standout pieces, designed to make a statement. Clothing with rare attention to the detail, overflowing with artisanal detail, made of fine fabrics bearing exclusive prints designed by our team around the garment and the garment simultaneously around the print. he Signature style of Konstantina is the exclusively printed luxurious clothing bearing a visual language in order to be desirable and flattering, creating something innovative and something that women will appreciate for its intelligent design aesthetic as well as its function.
From this year’s collection, I chose a matchy matchy set of a top and a skirt which I wore again and again both together and separately and almost always received comments for their original prints!
Zeus + Dione
The brand was introduced to the fashion world a couple of years ago, showing a strong greek identity along with a plan to revive the tradition of local handcrafting in greek country. Manufacturers, artisans and small workshops from all over Greece are recruited by Zeus + Dione team in order to contribute to their collections, full of contemporary yet timeless pieces. The kohyli t-shirt. the first sunglasses collection of the brand and the basket bag with the evil eye details all entered the fashonistas’ it-list of this summer.
