A capsule wardrobe that will keep you stylish when vacationing at a hotel in Greece
Before a trip, stylish travellers always like to know everything about the dress code of their destination. During the trip, stylish travellers are in constant search for cool local brands and up-coming designers. By the end of the trip, stylish travellers have discovered a whole new world of authentic style and acquired lots of fashion treasures.
Stylish travellers also seem to always know instinctively and adapt easily to their destination’s style rules. They love to complete their immaculately planned outfits with the right touches, doing detailed shopping during their whole stay.
What to wear in Greece
Now, let’s talk about stylish visitors of Greece. Grecian style has been a timeless and endless source of inspiration for the vacation wardrobe. Folk elements and grecian glam have inspired numerous collections in the international fashion scene. In the last years, there have been many Greek designers and brands offering an impressively fresh take on Greek folk style, souvenir items and ancient greek details. Below, you can find some of my personal favourites, photographed in a series of equally impressive hotels.
Think of them as the ingredients of a capsule wardrobe to keep you stylish from sunrise to sunset and beyond, when vacationing in a Greek hotel.
The top Greek fashion brands now
Kridemnon

Kridemnon is a new entry, a brand specialised in scarves that was launched this summer to remind us that Greece is an all time classic trend. Their foulards and sarongs made of the lightest cotton became immediately my favourites. They are perfect for taming vacation hair because you can tie them as a ribbon or as a turban or in many other ways, suggested by their inspiring instagram account! Kridemnon means headscarf in Ancient Greek. The first series of Kridemnon consists of and is inspired by the tradition of three islands, of Skyros , Crete and Rhodes and concerns patterns that we encounter in the art of embroidery of these three islands.
Callista Crafts

This is a success story that makes us all proud here in Greece. Collections for the lovers of true luxury. You will not find logos on these exquisite handcrafted bags made of the softest leather. Only the stitches that have become the trademark of the brand. Respecting age-old techniques, each Callista Crafts bag is a manifestation of passion and love for the art of leather craftsmanship. Classic supple spacious totes are the best sellers but I also adore the mini messenger bags and the big shoulder bags that come in a new palette every season, a palette that captures exactly the mood of the moment. I encourage you to see more on the hashtag #CallistaTravels.
Lefkon

I loved this new greek fashion brand by Irene – Louiza Andrikopoulou from the first moment I saw the summer collection at Fever Showroom, a showroom that I trust a lot for its selection of up and coming greek designers. All Lefkon clothes are handmade in Greece and stand out for their natural fabrics and mostly for their clean lines and great details. With emphasis on being timelessness Lefkon creates garments that also offer comfort and multi-functionality. I chose a two piece set of japanese wide leg pants and matching cropped top and a lovely light blue blouse with an impressive open back detail. I wore them again and again and won every time a lot of good comments. In other words, it is a nonchalant touch I need to create a perfect, effortlessly chic summer look.
Mitos

The best pieces to pack are the ones that you can throw on, no effort required, and feel and look great, pieces like this light as a feather kimono with the subtle patterns that you can combine with almost anything. Maybe this year’s ultimate vacation investment. Apart from this, Mitos is a great swimwear brand with a unique concept. It takes its name from the Greek myth of Ariadne and interprets folk embroidery in a different way every season, in order to create luxury swimwear with unique motifs.
Evi Grintela

Relaxing in pyzamas by Evi Grintela at Grace Hotel Santorini
This may be the year of the shirtdress but Evi Karatza, a fashion persona that worked in the media for years, decided to start her own brand with them a few years ago. She chooses all kinds of striped shirt cotton fabrics, all of exceptional quality, to create a variety of shirtdresses, fit to be forever in our closets. Combining sensual elegance and intellectual simplicity, her collections feature airy styles in feather soft cotton and luxe silk, embodying minimal chic matched with a subtle sophistication. This collection included also PJs – the big trend of the season that I personally adored.
Ancient Kallos

Resortwear by Ancient Kallos have been my vacation staples since their debut collection. Ancient Greek symbols printed on cotton fabrics, designed exclusively for Ancient Kallos, authentic embroideries on shirt dresses, cotton broderie, silk fabrics and handmade tassels are only a few of the amazing details that define Ancient Kallos. Their caftans and beach dresses, all adorned with exquisite details, are exactly what you need to take a beautiful picture in the whitewashed cobbled streets of Cyclades or on a sandy beach at the Ionian Sea. However, their chic glam makes them insidpensable for every fashion expert’s vacation wardrobe. All products have been designed and manufactured exclusively in Greece.
