If you visit Santorini, don’t miss out on a dinner at Throubi, Andronis Concept during sunset
This is the kind of the hotel that if you happen to see in a photo, haunts your mind ever since. Andronis Concept is not at all the typical white-washed cave-like hotel usually found in Santorini. It surprises its visitors with a palette of ochre and dark grey (inspired by the volcanic landscape of the island) and also with its architecture that gives an impression of a giant sculpture. It also boasts an exceptional spaciousness, a rare asset even among the most luxurious hotels in Santorini.
A visit to Andronis Concept Santorini
Contrary to the tightly packed accommodation options of the famous destination, Andronis Concept is spread on a whole cliffside with its own vineyard and vegetable gardens, three pools, a huge spa, a cave cinema, a group of immaculately decorated suites and of course Throubi a restaurant that promises a one of a kind dining experience.
Located at a stunning spot, on the outskirts of Imerovigli on the famous hiking path that connects Oia and Fira, Throubi welcomes you with an jaw dropping scenery and the most romantic sunset views one can enjoy on the island.
We arrived at Andronis Concept just before sunset. First we had a tour at the hotel, starting from the reception lobby that lies in 500 square meters. We saw the main pool, we admired a series of contemporary works of art and walked on the signature and so instagrammable staircase of the hotel.
Dining at Throubi Restaurant
Finally, we find our way to our table at Throubi. In keeping with the resort’s holistic philosophy of health and wellness Throubi offers nutritionally balanced dishes prepared with expertise. We were ready to enjoy our dinner prepared in the healthiest way, since no batter or salt are used as we were informed by our waiter. The two hours that followed consisted of a unique combination of cherished moments.
The sunset made the sky change colors in such a mesmerizing way, delicious dishes kept on coming to our table, while a jazz duet added its magic notes to this perfect experience. We had some amazing starters but what stole our hearts was the Vinsanto Rabbit and the Lemon Pie.
I found it so relaxing being there. Having left behind the crowded streets of Fira and their tourist hordes, I was able to indulge in this colorful serenity of Andronis Concept Hotel. Throubi Restaurant is surely one of the most sophisticated dining choices you can make when on the famous Cycladic island. It was dark when we left, yet the imposing ochre walls of Andronis were lit in a way you felt like you were walking through a lunar landscape…
