Eagles Resort is a true vacation paradise
It is the kind of exclusive retreat you dream of during the winter. Εagles Resort is a slice of heaven where you are magically transferred to a parallel universe. People peacefully reading books under their umbrellas, palm trees rustling in the sea breeze, small white boats sailing, club cars coming and going and smiling personnel pampering you in the most discreet way, among sandy beaches, aqua waters, immaculate gardens, pieces of art and the coolest design furniture.
It also has a history. I was really happy to meet the Tornivoukas family that owns it. It is the third generation that runs the hotel now. Their grandfather started with the legendary Méditerranné hotel in Thessaloniki, which was destroyed at the earthquake of 1989. His son envisioned a modern beach resort in this untamed piece of land, on the third peninsula of Halkidiki, next to Mount Athos and the Agion Oros monasteries. During the 70s, the family created Eagles Palace, a big luxury hotel, typical of that era, which has an all-time classic architectural style with monastic references and was greatly renovated a couple of years ago.
The Tornivoukas family have now added the impressive Eagles Villas to the resort, as an extension to the hotel on the same golden beach, made by architects 3SK Stylianidis. I had the chance to stay at an enviable villa with a private heated pool, during a media trip they organized to launch their new project.

The main pool at Eagles Villas
All 40 villas are nestled amid a green hilltop, with stunning view to the sea and glorious sunset. Mine was a Residential one and had two storeys, two bedrooms, a dream walk-in closet, a living space with a kitchenette plus a spa-like bathroom area with domed ceilings! Beside the luxury and the privacy of the place, I appreciated the decoration, a combination of simple elegance with an irreplaceable homey feeling. Their motto “Your home away from home. With a butler.” makes perfect sense!

The lobby
It is Fabienne Spahn, a well known French interior designer, that has really done an excellent job using neutral hues, soft fabrics and artisan craft details to create an oasis of easy living. I just adored every detail and how cleverly she has incorporated Eagles Palace style in this new project. You can see her moodboards here
For the lovers of good food and drinks, Eagles Resort offers a range of different culinary experiences. While there, we had an unforgettable dinner at Camares, the gourmet restaurant of Eagles Palace where two distinguished chefs Jerome Serres and Yiannis Baxevanis join forces, creating a menu full of authentic, greek flavors from local products of Mount Athos. I also loved the barbecue at the Armyra Restaurant on the beach with seafood souvlaki made on the spot and off course all the dishes by Dionysis Zaharopoulos at Lofos, the main restaurant at the Villas.
Eagles Villas is a new family oriented concept that gives a unique and fresh identity to an all time popular resort, renowned for its warm and friendly hospitality and loved by high end travelers from all around the world for a lot of years.
