Visit Elatos Resort, if you seek a paradise to make you escape from everything and return with a new mind
Hidden in the heart of the Mount Parnassos fir forest, Elatos Resort is a true hideaway. If I could write a prescription to all stressed friends of mine, I would definitely suggest a weekend at Elatos Resort. It was after a stressful week that I visited it for the weekend and became its fan forever.
Fresh air and sunny skies, hiking in the wild pine forest and staying at a wooden chalet sounds like a winter fairy tale. And it gets better. I forgot to mention the swimming sessions at a glorious indoor swimming pool – think warm waters and big windows to gaze at the tall trees outside – or the cocktails by the fire at the stylish lounge of the hotel.
Each one of the 39 independent chalets of Elatos provide guests with a unique blend of warmth and comfort. The original, high quality construction of the resort complements the natural environment of the Mount Parnassos fir forest, making Elatos Resort a truly unique retreat for any traveler. I stayed at a family chalet, one of the biggest ones with two storeys, three bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms and a kitchenette, all wood paneled and decorated in a classy rustic style. We also had our private terrace and an unobstructed view to the forest and the mountains.
It is this precious kind of privacy that you experience in your chalet, spacious enough to make you feel like you are staying at your own mountain cottage. It is also the surrounding nature, the oxygen you breathe and the amazing mountain views that constantly make your eye travel. All these work miracles in your soul even if you stay at Elatos for just two days like me.
Public spaces at Elatos Resort are equally charming. Every time we decided to leave the comfort of our private chalet and to visit the main lobby for a cocktail or a warm beverage, we didn’t regret it at all. The lobby feels like the living room of a very stylish friend. With its wood paneling, thick soft carpets, antique velvet sofas arranged around the big fireplace. the lounge of Elatos is as cozy as it can get. Imagine feeling completely cut off from the world, enjoying a luxury private shelter in the middle of a forest with a glass of red wine in hand.
One morning we participated in a short hiking session at the surrounding forest paths. Actually, for nature lovers Elatos Resort is a great starting point for excursions to the incredible nature of Parnassos mountain. Countless trails and paths lead to green meadows and waterfalls that are over 80 meters high.
We also loved driving at the area. We visited the picturesque town of Arahova which is a very popular winter destination for Greeks with lots of bars and restaurants and easy access to the ski center. We couldn’t help paying a visit to Delphi archaeological site, half an hour drive from the resort, offering always a unique experience to everyone who visits it.
