Summer Senses Resort offers an authentic Cycladic holiday experience as well as generous doses of luxurious pampering
I often wonder what it is that a modern traveler expects to find when visiting a five-star hotel. Ι have come to the conclusion it is not only the huge pool, the spa facilities and the gourmet experience. It is actually certain details that make the difference and allow you to spend your days in a preciously carefree manner, being constantly pampered in ways you cannot even imagine. The more relaxed your vacation time is, the more rejuvenated you feel once back in the daily routine.
The luxurious experience of Summer Senses Resort
When it comes to Summer Senses Resort, the brand-new arrival in the luxury accommodation scene of Paros island, I can easily provide evidence proving I had a very true and outstanding five-star hotel experience. Little details such as the set of fresh, fluffy towels for the sandy beaches of the island, the omnipresent concierge that secured a last minute reservation for us at the hottest restaurant of the island, the turn down service with the sweet little local treats waiting for us at the room, are among the many
Situated on a 25,000 square metre hillside, overlooking Punda beach, Summer Senses is surely a hotel dedicated to make every luxury connoisseur happy.
The hotel was actually the reason I decided to go back for summer holidays to Paros, one of the most popular Cycladic islands, always bustling with tourists. You see, I no longer see my vacations at the islands as an opportunity for adventure or exploration. Been there done that! It is relaxation that I am currently seeking. Cycladic nature is still a dreamy vacation setting for me, though. So, what I now need for my island getaway is a modern hotel able to provide an authentic Cycladic holiday experience as well as generous doses of luxurious pampering.

5 reasons to love Summer Senses Resort
1. The Interiors
The overall impression is that of an effortlessly chic style with a nod to 70s coastal hotels. I loved the art hanging at the walls, the ceramics that decorate the place, the navy touches. The lobby is homey and welcoming and made me thought that the “nautical meets modernism” concept works perfectly in a modern luxury island hotel.
In the room, soft earthy materials, mid-century furniture and artwork with nautical themes, create a laid-back, modern environment.
2. The plants
The garden of Summer Senses speaks of the Cycladic country
Rosemary, lavender, greek herbs, bushes and wild flowers create a colorful, aromatic, wild garden totally compatible with the island landscape. No lawn or grass that would be totally irrelevant. I would really like to see this garden fully grown in the next seasons, adding more to the beauty of the hotel.
3. The gastronomy
The collaboration of Summer Senses Resort with an acclaimed and awarded Athenian restaurant, Galazia Hytra, was the talk of the town this season.
The talented chef Tasos Mantis and the rest of the team of Galazia Hytra create a menu of unique recipes that represent the best of creative Greek cuisine. True to its philosophy of highlighting classic dishes through modern techniques and exceptional raw ingredients, the restaurant transforms Summer Senses Resort into a true culinary destination.
From the homemade bread and the divine kakavia to the hünkar beğendi and an awesome dessert finale, our dinner was an unforgettable experience during the magic hour of the sunset.
4. The Pools
Two large, freeform swimming pools are said to be the best hotel pools in Paros and provide the perfect place to while away a lazy summer afternoon. I swam almost alone and I was there at the peak of the vacation season in August with the hotel fully booked! Some of my cherished moments were plunging into their cool waters or simply relaxing on a sun lounger, fruity cocktail in hand.
5. The privacy
I really don’t know how they do it. The truth is that every day, I enjoyed precious privacy from morning to night in a fully booked 100 room hotel! Summer Senses Resort is a Cycladic haven of calmness.
