Pret-A-Portea Update! The iconic London hotel serves an haute couture-themed afternoon tea
We already know how Moschino looks like, but now there is also a chance to discover what it tastes like. No, we ‘re not eating any hundreds-of-dollars-worth fashion items, we are just actually eating the dolllars themselves, topping off a pistacchio delicace. In the Berkeley London, that is.
The iconic London hotel’s Pret-A-Portea has become something of a sensation in its field, and this season finale is most spectactular (and instagram-worthy) than ever. A homage to Autumn/Winter designs that took the catwalks by storm, Pret-A-Portea is a tasty paradise where ready-to-wear becomes ready-to-eat. Each month, a different cake was made in collaboration with a fashion world tastemaker.
November was made for walking with elegantly spiced ginger biscuits created with tastemaker Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo. Inspired by the season’s go to Mahesa knee-highs and featuring the new JC monogram, these boots were made for eating.
This season’s collection of distinctive designs also includes a Moschino million dollar bill-topped pistachio delice, while Emilia Wickstead’s red velvet gown transformed into a croustillon-covered choux bun. Also, the neon pink Molly Goddard design that became a dressed-to-kill costume on Killing Eve, is reimagined in spun sugar and finished at the guests table with glitter. The rest includes an homage to Karl Lagerfeld’s last work for Fendi, Richard Quinn’s latex eye-catchers and the much talked about Le Micro Chiquito bag.
The tea also includes a flavoursome collection of elegant canapés and tea sandwiches. To drink, guests can choose a loose leaf tea from the hotel’s extensive collection.
