and has great interiors!
A place out of time in the heart of the small town of Illhausern in Alsace, the five star historic Hotel Des Berges boasts a family tradition that lasts since generations. Inside the hotel there is the legendary restaurant Auberge de l’Ill where the chef Marc Haeberlin proposes a gourmet cuisine, awarded with three Michelin stars!
One of France’s most beloved gastronomic destinations, the restaurant is designed by the Architectural firm Jouin Manku. It is divided in four rooms and offers a dreamy scenery, in perfect harmony with Pedrali furniture.
The Ester armchair, designed by Patrick Jouin, has been chosen for the restaurant. Its sinuous and accommodating shapes, the attention to details, the refined die-casted aluminium legs and the unconditional comfort guaranteed by a seat made of polyurethane foam with elastic belts, represent the best choice for a restaurant which is a landmark for the international high restaurant world, adding to this place a touch of exceptional refinement.
The Michelin Guide France 2018 was recently unveiled and the Auberge de l’Ill has now 51 years of unbroken 3-stardom!
The story of the Auberge de l’Ill, which is one of the oldest 3-star establishments in France, is a culinary fairy tale, like the ones we often see at the movies. It started 150 years ago when the Haeberlin family opened a small country inn next to a farm and goes on to present. There are many more fascinating details about this unique hotel, which you can find here!
