New entries and all-time classics are among the winners!
Fresh openings, already famous and unique hotels across Greece were awarded the glamorous night of the Greek Hotel of the Year Awards on February 4th at the Goulandris Foundation in Athens.
Among the awarded hotels, The Wild by Interni received the title Design Hotel of the Year, Parilio the title Luxury Hotel of the Year, Andronis Arcadia the title New Hotel of the Year, The Pinnacle Athens the title Urban Stay of the Year, D ‘Andrea Lagoon the Adults Only Hotel of the Year, The Syntopia the Millenials’ Hotel of the Year, the Perianth Hotel the Best Suite of the Year, the Ekies All Senses Resort the Fine Dining Hotel of the Year, Astra Suites titled Romantic Hotel of the Year and Cosmopolitan Suites titled Scenic View of the Year.
Also, three honorary awards were given to prominent figures in Greek hotel industry.
Manos Consoleas, Under Secretary of Tourism gave the F&B Manager of the Year award to Constantine Alexios of Belvedere Hotel and Area Corporate Director of F&B Matsuhisa Restaurants, Europe. Olga Kefalogiannis, former Minister of Tourism, gave the General Manager of the Year award to Tim Ananiadis, General Manager of Grande Bretagne and King George Hotel. Panos Almyrantis, chairman of the jury, awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award to Manolis Rasoulis, former General Manager of Elounda Beach and Elounda Bay.
The exceptional audience of the Hotel of the Year Awards had the chance to wander around the Goulandris Foundation’s contemporary art collections and indulge in some fusion finger food and sushi.
The nominations at the Greek Hotel of the Year Awards, organized for the second consecutive year by the Hotel & Restaurant under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the EOT, are evaluated by a twenty-five-member jury chaired by Panos Almyrantis, Daios Cove’s Director General and EH European Vice President Hotel Managers Association.
