The Doodle Tree is a unique creation that truly stands out!
It’s officially the “tree reveal” time of the year, for the luxurious and famed hotels around the world! The Upper House, the famed Hong-Kong Hotel has chosen to present this year a one-of-a-kind illuminated Christmas tree in a partnership headed by local craftsman Mr. Wu Chi Kai. This unique creation was inspired by Hong Kong’s iconic illuminating street signs. Mr Wu is one of only a handful of remaining neon sign makers, part of StreetSignHK, who preserve the signboards to protect the city’s urban cultural heritage.
Along with international architects COLLECTIVE, the team has revived the fading art of neon sign making with their innovative “Doodle Tree” at The Upper House -a mesmerizing and fresh creation that stands out!

Breaking the convention of 2D neon signs and with a design that introduces heritage sustainability, the team have expertly crafted the neon tubes into 3D form through continual experiments and traditional heated glass bending techniques.
