Hôtel Saint-Delis, a new boutique hotel at the historic city of Honfleur gives us the best deco inspiration
How about opening a window to a panoramic view of the roofs of Honfleur? How about waking up to a magnificent scenery over its half-timbered houses and the Norman landscape. Ιt sounds and it is amazing. This is exactly the experience that the brand new Hôtel Saint-Delis offers to its guests. The hotel is housed at the former residence of the painter Henri de Saint-Delis, its nine rooms spread in three historic houses spanning the 17th to 19th centuries.
The designing team of Hôtel Saint-Delis took these traditional buildings and turned them into a contemporary cozy cocooning hub. They managed to do this by using natural and noble materials like oak, linen, metal, marble, suede in an uncluttered but warm style.
Comfy armchairs, herringbone wood flooring, shaggy rugs and imposing headboards in raw wood are combined with subdued and discreet lighting to create a homey feeling. Guests are invited to sink in gigantic beds with thick cushions and warm blankets. As a colourful touch, several frescoes are displayed in the rooms, inspired by Saint-Délis paintings.
