This hotel in Copenhagen is the first chemical free hotel in Denmark
Hotel Herman K, is the Brøchner Hotels’ new 5-star luxury boutique hotel and the first hotel in Denmark where chemicals are not a part of the cleaning products and process. It opened in June 2018 with 31 exclusive rooms and suites in an old transformer station in the heart of Copenhagen.
A thoroughly cleaned room is one of the cornerstones of a good hotel experience, why cleaning products containing chemicals, are often used to ensure that hotel rooms are as clean as possible. However, these chemical cleaning products, contain substances harmful for the environment and the indoor climate – to mention a few. Therefore, the progressive Danish boutique hotel chain, Brøchner Hotels, is now incorporating new resources in their housekeeping and cleaning process, for the benefit of both the environment, guests and the staff.
The rooms are treated with ACT CleanCoat – an invisible and odourless coating that makes surfaces self-disinfectant, ensuring low-bacterial level, healthy indoor climate and cleaner air.
Instead of using classic cleaning chemicals, ECA water, created by electrolysis of salt and water, is used to clean the rooms. The active component of ECA water is hypochlorous acid. Since it’s only salt and water, the ECA is completely harmless and will not expose guests, staff or the environment for any kind of harm.
