Exciting news for travelers visiting Berlin, as the popular hospitality brand, The Hoxton, is set to open a new hotel in the heart of the city
The Hoxton, a well-known hospitality brand with many properties in Europe, is making its German debut in Berlin on May 8th, and it’s set to become the new favourite neighbour in the city. The hotel’s location in the Charlottenburg district is the perfect place to draw inspiration for its 234 bedrooms and public spaces from the neighbourhood’s unique blend of the elegant Art Deco motifs of the Golden Twenties and the raw materialism of the Brutalist movement.
Known for its hip and trendy properties, The Hoxton has established a reputation for providing a unique and memorable hotel experience to its guests. The hotel is introducing something new to Berlin’s foodie scene with its Tandoor Chop House serving spice-filled feasts and natural wines. At the same time, casual coffees and light snacks are available at the adjoining coffee bar. The lobby is expansive, with vintage furniture and a secluded winter garden, providing the perfect atmosphere for Berlin’s coolest new hangout.
The hotel’s interior design has been crafted by Ennismore’s in-house design studio, AIME Studios. AIME has paid homage to the theatricality of the German capital’s golden era, framed against an unrefined, textural backdrop throughout the public spaces. The blue and green tones inform the colour palette of the open-house lobby, which is dotted with mid-century furniture sourced from Northern Europe, bespoke rugs, and referential Bauhaus artwork.
The hotel’s restaurant, Tandoor Chop House, weaves natural pigments, furniture, and artwork influenced by Northern India into its aesthetic. The warmth of the restaurant is complemented by an elevated copper and timber-framed open kitchen, comfy banquettes, and a striking central sculpture all set against rough lime wash plaster walls.
The 234 bedrooms have been designed by AIME Studios, and they come in five categories, each defined by Art Nouveau forms and expressive design details. The rooms have a muted colour palette of desaturated pinks and greens and are furnished with vintage-inspired furniture and scalloped headboards, creating a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere.
The Hoxton, Charlottenburg, brings a fresh new concept to Berlin’s food scene, inviting guests to pull up a stool next to the oversized statement windows for the ultimate neighbourhood people-watching experience. The hotel’s signature hybrid meeting and events concept, The Apartment, is located on the hotel’s seventh floor, featuring three flexible private rooms centred around a communal pantry.
The Hoxton, Charlottenburg, is set to become the new neighbourhood hangout in West Berlin’s bustling Charlottenburg district, surrounded by eclectic cafes, destination restaurants, and countless specialist vintage and antique stores. The hotel’s proximity to Berlin’s shopping avenue, Kurfürstendamm, and world-class design museums, art galleries and exhibition spaces, makes it the perfect place to stay for culture vultures.
