Waking up to the goodies of a famous french patisserie sounds like the gourmet lovers’ dream vacation! Oh la la!
If you love Paris (a.k.a. the Land of macarons) and you have even the slightest fondness for the local delicacies, you never fail to do a quick stop at Fauchon. Founded in 1886, the (now world-famous) gourmet and delicatessen company has been taking locals and tourists in fancy taste trips in the form of small sweet bites or lavish gift boxes. It has also always been an innovative force in the patisserie world, nurturing young and talented pastry chefs like Pierre Hermé and Christophe Adam. And now there is a new version of that, a cute hotel in Paris aptly called the Fauchon L’Hotel Paris.
Located in the posh 8th arrondissement, on the mythical Place de la Madeleine, this 5-star boutique hotel combines outstanding hospitality with great food, topped with a lot of pink. The hotel’s 54 suites are decorated in the signature Fauchon manner, with a pink, white and black colour palette, clean lines, elegant furniture and a touch of contemporary French art. The property also features The Grand Café Fauchon, the Jardin Des Thés, the Carita Beauty Spa and a Fitness Center, but the wow- factor is definitely the gourmet mini-bar in the rooms.
Far from your typical room mini bar with some peanuts and refreshments and totally living up to the standards of its brand name, the iconic Fauchon Gourmet Bar includes sweet and savoury delicacies, like foie gras, cheese, crackers, cookies, chocolate and sweets and of course champagne, chilled beverages, coffee, tea and complimentary surprises. This “fresh product” cabinet keeps everything at the ideal temperature, is restocked daily and guests can customize it to fit their preferences upon their arrival. Imagine relaxing in your cozy hotel room, with a cup of hot chocolate, nibbling the finest french pastries from your mini fridge. What more can one ask? This is the meaning of joie de vivre!
