It ‘s not only the natural beauty of the landscape that makes Sani Resort a unique resort or the high level of accommodation and pampering offered to guests, but also these wonderful events-institutions that are organized for years.
Institutions like the Sani Gourmet, a gastronomic festival held each May, where I was invited for the second time last weekend. All these make Sani Resort a really special place in Greece (and a personal favorite of mine, since I first visited it for summer holidays, a few years ago).
The festival opened with an atmospheric cocktail party by the sea. The incredible artistic interpretation of this year’s theme “The Silk Road» and installations with camels by Marios Eleftheriadis as well as the excellent finger food made by the guest chefs was the best introduction and gave us an idea of the dinners that would follow in the coming days.
I had the opportunity to enjoy two dinners, the first by an Indian chef Alfred Prasad and the second by the Turkish Kemal Demirasal. Each with its own special flavors. I will make special mention of the dessert of the first day (the photo in the middle right of the top collages) was a sensational ice cream with cardamom and carrot halva had – except taste – and a spectacular arty presentation on the plate.
Needless to say, that I woke everyday to breakfast perfection! It makes no sense to fight with calories when you have in front of you brioche french toast, eggs Benedict, a huge variety of cheese and cold meats, fruits and countless desserts, tarts and baked deli.
