What makes Mercer Hotel Barcelona unique is something that you realize from the very moment you stand in front of it.

ToggleYou see this old historic building at a narrow cobbled street in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, among arches and medieval walls, and you know this is going to be a one-of-a-kind experience.

Mercer Hotel does not only offer the ideal setting, it also impresses the guest with an immaculate contemporary style in its interiors and a high standard 5 star hospitality. I loved the rooftop bar with the pool and the beautiful view to the city as well as the small library in the business room. Mostly, I enjoyed lunching at Le Bouchon, the new casual dining spot that was recently added to Mercer, overseen by Giuseppe Iannotti (a chef awarded a Michelin star at his restaurant Kresios in Benevento, Italy). Here, Giuseppe creates innovative dishes using the finest Spanish ingredients and traditional recipes to create inspired yet simple food.
I stopped by Le Bouchon after my visit to Picasso Museum (a must I have to say, with an amazing collection from the artist’s early years) and enjoyed aperitivos and tapas as well as a nice grilled beef filet and a tiramisu.
I also had a tour at all the areas of the hotel and had the chance to see a suite with a view to the stylish patio of the hotel.
