Lena Harizopoulos is a luxury lifestyle expert with years’ experience in the PR and Marketing field. Her “Lena’s Black Book” is an elegant lifestyle site, where one can watch Lena reviewing hotels and restaurants as well as showcasing all aspects of eclectic living.

Below find my interview to Lena, that took place at Life Gallery Hotel, Ekali, Athens.

Being a fashion journalist for so long what is your golden rule of style  & how would you define your personal style

My golden rule? Stick to what flatters you! As simple as that.

My personal style could be described as a mix of designer classics and trendy essentials.

What new key pieces of clothing have you added to your wardrobe this Winter?
A tiny black blazer with shawl collar, a couple of statement sweaters, black culottes, a pair of thigh high boots, a robe coat.
If you had to pick 1 designer/brand to dress for the rest of your life who would that be and why?
A tough question for style chameleons like me. Anyway, if I had to answer I would choose Marni for its strong identity and its statement pieces.
Which city in Europe is your favorite shopping destination and why? – Which are your fave shops there
Paris for sure!  A city that I will always be in love with, for many reasons apart from shopping. My list of fave shops would include french cool labels such as Maje, Sandro, Ba&Sh, Claudie Pierlot as well as Merci which is a unique concept store, full of inspiring ideas.

What made you create the hotel trotter. Tell us more about it
It is a new instagram account that I started last summer
We could say that TheHotelTrotter is a collection of instagram-worthy hotel moments.
In its gallery, you find lobbies, sunbeds, rooms with a view, breakfast trays, rooftops, do not disturb signs and many other hotel lovers’ fetiches
You see, I have always loved everything about #hotellife and long before Instagram, I used to photograph everything in the hotels I visited.

TheHotelTrotter gives me the opportunity to use my photos in a creative way and I really enjoy this!
So, TheHotelTrotter can be  everywhere! In the morning, you may see TheHotelTrotter enjoying a rooftop view in New York, in the sunset, sipping an aperol spritz with Parthenon in the background and late at night, snapping the sight of a fluffy design bed in Copenhagen.
Needless to say, now I have one more reason to visit nice hotels!
Which are some of your favorite 5* hotels in the Mediterranean
Sani Resort in Halkidiki for its location and high standard services
Nikki Beach in Porto Heli for the most cool, positive vibes and spacious design rooms
Poseidonion in Spetses for its iconic atmosphere
Hotel de Russie for its elegant privacy, two minutes walk from the Spanish Steps.
Finally, La Mamounia is a Moroccan extravaganza that makes you feel you live in a fairy tale

I simply adore everything there, from the custom made brown havaiianas in the room to the dreamlike spa treatments.

Tell us which was the ultimate luxurious hotel you have ever visited. What did you like the most about it
Ciragan Palace in Istanbul is a hotel you cannot forget easily. The location, the view and the rooms are all unique but I was also impressed by its afternoon tea buffet which was this irresistible gourmet mix of french patisserie and turkish delicatessen.

What is your must-pack item when traveling

Even tougher question… Phone chargers and power banks, I guess. And DVF clothes that never wrinkle

What in your opinion is the ultimate luxury when traveling.

Having all the time you need in order to fully enjoy your trip
