When qualities of herbs are ideally combined with classic cocktails
Οn Tuesday evening, we were invited to enjoy the Royal Botanic Cocktails of the Bar 8 at the GB Roof Garden in Athens.
This new project of the Bar8 team brings us close to the beautiful aromas of nature and allows us to relax while savoring aromatic cocktails inspired by herbs from Greece, known for their healing powers since ancient times.
It was a discovery just outside Limassol, in the ancient city of Amathus in Cyprus that has led to this great cooperation between the Athens Grand Bretagne Hotel and the Reserve Brands of Diageo. In an ancient laboratory for the production of perfumes, almost 4,000 years old, where pots with herbs were used for the distillation of perfumes and medicines, a unique idea was born.
Project “Royal Botanic Cocktails” introduced a unique experience for all of us by merging fine drinking with aromatherapy. The perfumes and the qualities of herbs are ideally combined with the reserve brands of Diageo and are accompanied with flavors specially selected and created with herbs that match each cocktail.
For example, the Purple Rain cocktail is a combination of liqueur, vodka, bitters, and of course a touch of herbal essence from soothing lavender. Sage Margarita is a classic cocktail, with a herbal twist. Sage leaves are used to flavour this Margarita, adding a refreshing and anti-oxidant touch. The Basil Dream cocktail is a delightful mix of fresh basil leaves, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, orange bitter and gin that revitalises body and spirit
The menu has some more options which you can enjoy until 30th November. See more here
