I really enjoyed the new dessert menu by Arnaud Larher at Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens. The multi awarded French Pastry Chef is currently creating his signature desserts for my favourite hotel!
July and the city. Pre-vacation mood in hot Athens calls for action. And by action I mean creating an illusion of #hotellife and taking a break at the elegant rooftop of Hotel Grande Bretagne, the most iconic hotel of my city. The incentive was stronger for me knowing about the collaboration of GrandeBretagne with Arnaud Larher, the multi awarded French Pastry Chef who is currently creating his signature desserts for my favourite hotel.

The smile on my face says it all..
I was among the lucky journalists that had the chance to try the new desserts on the day of their launching as well as meet Arnaud Larher and hear from him all about his inspiration and excitement about this collaboration. Influenced by Greek food culture, Arnaud Larher, who likes to mix natural flavours of herbs in his desserts, made interesting combinations and also discovered new materials like mastic, with which he is going to experiment in future creations of his.

Le Monte Cristo by Arnaud Larher
So I didn’t hesitate a minute to make a reservation at the GB Roof Garden restaurant, in order to enjoy Le Monte Cristo (a soft chocolate biscuit with raspberry cream and dark chocolate mousse) with a stunning sunset view of Athens and cure my July Monday blues in the sweetest way!

Le Pompadour by Arnaud Larher
The new dessert menu which is available at the Winter Garden City Lounge or the GB Roof Garden Restaurant of Hotel Grande Bretagne as well as the Tudor Hall, the restaurant of King George Hotel includes other top options as well, such as the La Charlotte menthe fraise (Extra thin almond biscuit, poached strawberries, infused fresh mint mousse covered with strawberry glaze, fresh strawberries, ‘biscuit cuillère’ and infused mint chantilly), le Baba au Rhum and Le Pompadour (a crunchy biscuit with Aegina pistachios, pistachio flavoured mousseline cream and strawberries crown covered with whipped cream rosettes).
On another day, I had the chance to try them at the elegant Tudor Hall of King George Hotel. I had a great time at both hotels. As a true hotel lover, I can feel the welcoming vibes of a hotel upon entering it. As a Taurus, I just can’t resist an exquisitely made dessert. It is easy to imagine how happy I felt when these two were combined in the best possible way. Highly recommendable!
