Checking in at Hotel du Petit Moulin * Paris

I always get fascinated by hotels with themed rooms.

How can you get bored in such a hotel? You want to visit it again and again in order to discover a different theme in another room. It is like a new hotel every time. Hotel du Petit Moulin has rooms that make you want to collect the experiences from all them.

It’s funny but I recently checked in Hotel du Petit Moulin for the second time so I was very curious about the room I would have and guess what.. I ended up staying in the same one as 4 years ago.

Of course I got the one with the Versailles wallpaper so I thought “pas mal du tout!”. I also asked for a tour and saw some other awesome rooms.

So, this original hotel is situated in the heart of Marais and owes its unique character to fashion designer Christian Lacroix, the man behind the whole (epic) decoration project! As a fashion designer, Lacroix was a master of mix and match, something that is reflected at the eclectic blend that he has created for Hotel du Petit Moulin.

The first thing you see it’s a a classic 1900s boulangerie shopfront. The moment you open the door, you enter a parallel world, packed with colours and patterns that makes you travel in time and place. The designer draws inspiration from various eras an styles and makes his own mix. There is a puzzle of references from pop art to classicism and from baroque to 60s design. You just want to photograph every little corner!

I would certainly recommend Hotel du Petit Moulin as a unique and value for money hotel experience with true Parisian feel, all this in an area that you will love to explore.
