A fresh and charming boutique hotel is coming into the hip Kolonaki neighbourhood!
A new upscale boutique hotel in the heart of Athens is coming in 2022, according to the plans of Greek hotel sales management company Hotelising.
The company’s aim is to turn one of Athens’ landmark neoclassical mansions into a luxurious boutique hotel abiding by the city’s high hospitality standards. The neoclassical mansion in Kolonaki was also the home of Elli Lambeti, one of Greece’s most renowned actresses and the little square beneath it bears an elegant statue of hers.
Hotelising has subleased the property, which will undergo full reconstruction works in order to start operating in early 2022. The new hotel will feature six spacious suites and an impressive rooftop that will offer a stunning view of the city.
Located at the junction of Delfon and Didotou streets in Kolonaki, the mansion is of great historical significance, as it was designed by Danish architect Christian Hansen during his years in Athens in the mid-19 century. Hansen’s most famous works in the Greek capital is the original main building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as the Zapio Mansion and the Athens Observatory.
Kolonaki is one of the most vibrant and high-end neighbourhoods of central Athens. It is full of famous restaurants, luxury boutiques and classy bars located in its tiny streets and corners, while most of the building’s terraces in the area boast impressive views of the Acropolis and the city.
