The Foundry Suites invites us to its hotel rooftop in Athens with a new cocktail menu!
In a city full of beautiful rooftops, it might be hard to stand out -yet The Foundry Hotel‘s rooftop became an instant talk of the town, when it opened back in 2019. Located in the heart of the cult Psirri neighbourhood, this once two-storey foundry became a cool boutique hotel of great design and cosy atmosphere.
The rooftop of the building is an attempt to reinterpret the typical courtyard of a traditional Greek dwelling while offering an elevated verdant and shaded meeting, relaxation and entertainment spot. Amidst the exclusively Greek vegetation of olive and pomegranate trees, lavender, fragrant plants and vineyard-laced pergolas, a walkway of marble slabs is formed and guests can enjoy their drinks while indulging in unobstructed views of the Acropolis, Philopappou Hill, the Observatory and the Gazi district.
For summer 2021, the roof(top) is on fire, with a fresh menu of new flavours, outgoing vibes and lots of happenings!
The delicious smells of a freshly baked pizza, the effervescent feeling left in the mouth by a sip of Greek wine or beer, but also the signature cocktails reminiscent of fireworks of Greek herbs, make every visit to this hotel rooftop in Athens feel like a journey into the happiest moments of our collective memory.
Anastasia Triantaphyllides – known since her tenure behind the resounding bars of Noel, Zurbaran Athens and Lokali, is curating the Foundry’s signature cocktails like “Smoked Tomatina”, while chef Dimitris Pelekis is in charge of dishes like the miso pizza, mixing perfectly with beer, red or white wine – all selected by sommelier Spyros Nomikos from small Greek winemakers.
The Rooftop Garden of The Foundry Suites Athens (see more about it here!) combines nostalgia and originality as well as the familiar smell and taste from our childhood with the freshness of a contemporary meeting point.
