Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino reopens on March 31 for the 2026 season, unveiling a new calendar of guest chefs, wine events, and wellness retreats in Messinia.
The News
Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino will reopen on March 31, 2026 for its new season in Messinia, Greece, with an expanded programme across dining, wellbeing, and destination experiences.

The Peloponnesian resort returns with a stronger focus on wellness and longevity, following international recognition that includes Forbes Travel Guide 5 Star status for both the hotel and its spa, as well as AHEAD Awards for Landscaping and Resort design.

Programming highlights include a four-day wellness retreat in May, visiting Michelin-starred chefs, international wine houses, and guest mixology takeovers.
Design & Atmosphere
The resort is designed to blend into the Messinian landscape, with low buildings and natural materials. Paths, gardens, and more than 2,700 olive trees shape the outdoor experience.

The mood is defined by Mediterranean light, open air transitions, and a resort layout that privileges horizon views and a sense of spacing, rather than theatrical interiors. The emphasis is on integration: materials and forms that appear calibrated to the site, and public areas that feel like extensions of the landscape.
The Experiences
The 2026 season places structured programming at the centre of the guest experience, spanning wellness, sport, gastronomy, wine, and cultural immersion.

Wellness is led through an editorial style calendar of visiting specialists and retreats, including the four-day “Step into Self” retreat (May 7 to 11) with Taryn Toomey and Ally Bogard. The broader lifestyle offering is supported by Costa Navarino’s established activity infrastructure, including the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, Moraitis Watersports, and the destination’s golf courses.
On the culinary side, the resort will host a trio of three Michelin star chefs at The Private Kitchen: Frédéric Anton (Le Pré Catelan), Julien Royer (Odette), and Arnaud Lallement (L’Assiette Champenoise). Elsewhere, Oliviera spotlights Greek cooking through guest appearance by Sotiris Evangelou, while Tahir moves between Middle Eastern and Italian influences and includes a featured moment dedicated to Château d’Esclans during a signature Sunday BBQ. . Pizza Sapienza by Daniele Cason continues under chef Daniele Cason.
Fine drinking programming is positioned as a series of focused evenings rather than broad tastings, including a night dedicated to Château Margaux and events with producers such as Champagne Henri Giraud, Château Angélus, Maison Joseph Drouhin, and T OINOS. In cocktail culture, the resort will host guest nights at Three Admirals, including a takeover by Line Athens, referenced as No. 8 on The World’s 50 Best Bars list.
For guests who want the destination beyond the resort, the season’s cultural itinerary highlights Messinia’s deeper historical landscape, including the Messenian Odyssey Trail with stops such as the Palace of Nestor and Voidokilia Beach, alongside hands-on experiences like weaving workshops.
TheHotelTrotter’s Insider Tip
For a more immersive stay, plan around the May 7 to 11 “Step into Self” retreat or one of the guest chef weekends, then add one early morning off-site excursion to Voidokilia Beach before peak hours. The contrast between programmed resort life and the raw Messinian coastline is where the destination feels most complete.
