Experience the royal treatment at Brown’s Hotel and afternoon tea in London with their series of offerings to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation
Attention all royal enthusiasts and luxury aficionados! Brown’s Hotel, part of the Rocco Forte collection in London, is rolling out the red carpet to celebrate the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III with a series of royally-themed offerings starting this May. Join in the festivities with an English garden-themed Afternoon Tea in partnership with Boodles, a ‘King’s Elixir’ cocktail fit for a king, a portrait of King Charles III by John Swannell, and a Coronation-inspired dish to share in Charlie’s Restaurant.

As the capital’s oldest luxury hotel, Brown’s has played host to a long list of Royals throughout its illustrious past.
The Charles Coronation Afternoon Tea
In honor of our green-fingered monarch, King Charles III, the hotel’s talented pastry team has curated an exquisite menu based around the quintessential English Garden, in partnership with Boodles. Picture this: finger sandwiches and pastries adorned with fresh flowers, a floral installation by Brown’s in-house florist, Ellie Hartley, and a cake stand with a delicate beehive cake drizzled with Highgrove Honey, a nod to the royal family’s tradition of beekeeping.
Guests can also indulge in Charles’ favourite fruit loaf served on a traditional tea trolley. After the tea, guests can write and congratulate the King on intricately hand-painted postcards, and post them in the pink Boodles post-box located just inside the hotel entrance. All letters will be delivered to Buckingham Palace, and guests may even receive a response from the King.
The menu and the cocktail
For a limited time during the Coronation week, Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt and his team will prepare and serve the ‘King’s Dover Sole’, a dish to share using the finest British fish and the King’s own Organic English Asparagus from the organic Duchy brand, exclusively at Charlie’s Restaurant. A portrait of King Charles III by John Swannell will be displayed in the restaurant, across from the striking portrait of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.
Raise a glass to the health of the King and the nation with the ‘King’s Elixir’, a warming drink blending Berry Bros & Rudd No.3 Gin with its signature King’s Ginger liqueur, a tonic made for King Edward VII. Served in a Martini coupette with an orange zest garnish, guests can delight in the delicate interplay of ginger, zesty citrus, and fragrant botanicals at the Donovan Bar and Charlie’s Bar.
Don’t miss out on a chance to visit Boodles’ ‘Best of British’ garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show or catch a glimpse of their one-off Coronation ring at their flagship Bond Street store.
