Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will reopen the historic Hotel Danieli in Venice in mid-2026 following a comprehensive restoration, returning the landmark property to operation under the Four Seasons brand.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will reopen Hotel Danieli in Venice in mid-2026, marking the brand’s return to one of the city’s most prominent waterfront addresses. The property, located steps from Piazza San Marco and overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, is undergoing a full restoration prior to reopening.
At reopening in 2026, the hotel will offer 120 accommodations, including 52 suites. A second phase planned for 2027 will increase the total inventory to 176 accommodations, including 79 suites. The room mix will include a large number of connecting guest rooms and suites, many with lagoon-facing views. Food and beverage venues will include Restaurant and Bar Terrazza Danieli and Bar Dandolo. Interior design for the restored hotel has been led by Pierre-Yves Rochon. The Danieli Spa is scheduled to open later in 2026 with three treatment rooms, including one for couples, as well as sauna, hammam, and relaxation facilities. The property will also feature approximately 848 square metres (9,125 square feet) of event space.
Hotel Danieli occupies three interconnected palaces spanning multiple periods of Venetian history. Palazzo Dandolo, dating to the late 15th century, was originally built as a private residence and lodging for visiting dignitaries. The hotel expanded in the 19th century with the addition of Palazzo Casa Nuova, followed by the construction of Palazzo Excelsior in the mid-20th century. The current restoration unifies the three buildings into a single operating hotel while upgrading guest rooms, public areas, and operational infrastructure.
The reopening aligns with Four Seasons’ strategy of repositioning historically significant properties within its global portfolio, particularly in major European cultural destinations. In Venice, the relaunch of Hotel Danieli adds to a cluster of restored luxury hotels concentrated around the San Marco district and lagoonfront.
Details regarding the reopening timeline, accommodation counts, facilities, and phased expansion have been provided by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The company has confirmed that restoration works are ongoing and that the initial reopening remains scheduled for mid-2026.
Following the initial reopening, the second phase in 2027 will complete the planned expansion of rooms and suites. Further information regarding reservations and opening dates for the spa and additional facilities is expected to be released closer to launch.
