Luxury hospitality group Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has named Olympic champion Simone Biles as its first Global Wellness Ambassador, signalling a new phase in the brand’s evolving approach to holistic wellbeing.
A New Face for Luxury Hospitality Wellness
The global hotel group Mandarin Oriental has announced that Simone Biles, widely recognised as the most decorated gymnast in history, will become the brand’s first Global Wellness Ambassador.

The partnership reflects the group’s growing focus on wellbeing as a defining pillar of modern luxury hospitality. As part of her role, Biles will collaborate with Mandarin Oriental’s Wellness Board and contribute insights drawn from elite athletic performance and recovery. Her involvement will extend beyond campaign visibility. According to the announcement, she will participate in the development of future wellness programmes and guest experiences, working alongside specialists in meditation, movement, nutrition, sleep and lifestyle performance.
The goal is to shape a more integrated approach to wellness that combines physical health, mental resilience and emotional balance.
A Symbolic Debut in Milan
Biles introduced the partnership during a visit to the city at Mandarin Oriental Milan, marking both her first trip to Milan as an international sports fan and the start of the collaboration. Speaking about the partnership, Biles highlighted the shared philosophy between athlete and brand. She noted that wellness extends far beyond physical performance and includes recovery, mental wellbeing and maintaining balance throughout demanding careers.
The collaboration also signals a shift in how hospitality brands work with global figures. Rather than traditional endorsements, Mandarin Oriental emphasises long-term creative collaboration built around expertise and lived experience.
Wellness Experiences Inspired by Simone Biles
To celebrate the launch, Mandarin Oriental Milan has introduced two limited experiences inspired by Biles. The Double-Double Glow treatment combines thermal techniques, targeted massage and advanced facial technology designed to stimulate muscle recovery while enhancing skin radiance.

The experience integrates hot and cold stone therapy with a hydrating “Glass Skin” facial using cryo globes to revitalise the complexion. Alongside the spa ritual, the hotel’s culinary team created the Champion Chip cookie, a balanced sweet inspired by Biles’ approach to nutrition, recovery and performance.
Both experiences are currently offered at the Milan property through the end of March.
When Wellness Is Becoming Luxury Hospitality’s Next Frontier
For Mandarin Oriental, the appointment highlights a broader strategic direction. Wellness has long been part of the group’s identity, but the new collaboration signals a deeper commitment to holistic wellbeing within the luxury travel experience.
As the company continues expanding globally, it increasingly positions itself not only as a hotel operator but as a curator of modern wellbeing experiences. The partnership will also support charitable initiatives through collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, a global organisation that uses sport to empower young people and transform communities.
Within the rapidly evolving luxury hospitality landscape, the message is clear: the future of travel is not only about where guests stay, but how they feel when they leave.
The brand’s philosophy of destination-driven wellbeing can also be seen in properties such as Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino, one of Greece’s most talked-about luxury resorts.
