A personal escape to Avali by MarBella Collection in Corfu, one of the most beautiful new luxury hotels in Greece for 2025, where design, nature, and the Ionian horizon blend into pure serenity
There are places that welcome you not with words, but with a feeling. Avali by MarBella Collection in Corfu does exactly that.
The moment I arrived, I knew this was a different kind of luxury — the quiet kind. The kind that doesn’t need to impress you with chandeliers or marble, but with light, space, and the rhythm of the sea.
Set right on the beach and embraced by pine-covered hills, Avali feels like a sanctuary for those who crave stillness. You can sense it in the air — soft, salty, and filled with sunlight.

The Perfect Dilemma: Pool Serenity or Wild Beach Freedom
I’ve seen many hotel pools, but few like this one. The infinity pool at Avali Corfu is vast yet peaceful, designed in a way that makes everyone feel they’ve found their own private corner. The water mirrors the sky; the horizon stretches endlessly. Definetely, one of my favourites in Greece!
Still, every time I sank into the pool, I faced a delightful dilemma — because just a few steps below lay one idyllic, unspoilt beach. A stretch of pebbled coast, untouched and completely free of umbrellas or loud music. The sea there was crystal clear, the kind that invites you to swim for hours and forget everything else.

Some guests stayed by the pool, mesmerized by its design and stillness. Others wandered down to the beach, chasing that wild sense of freedom that only a natural shore can offer. Between the two, I moved constantly — pool, sea, pool again — unable to decide which view was more perfect.
For those who prefer simply gazing at the horizon, the hotel has placed soft puff seats on the grassy edge overlooking the water — a simple but brilliant idea. Sitting there, barefoot and sun-warmed, I felt like time had stopped.
It’s the kind of beauty that doesn’t shout — it whispers.
Design, Details, and the Art of Hospitality
My room at Avali by MarBella Collection was a serene dialogue between comfort and style — a soft color palette of pastels, airy whites, and sandy tones that instantly calmed the senses. Subtle geometric patterns added rhythm, while locally-inspired touches — handmade ceramics, woven textures, and natural wood — brought a sense of place.
The interiors balance contemporary design with soul: an eclectic mix of modern lines and mid-century influences, creating a mood that’s elegant yet warm, sophisticated yet effortless. Light is everywhere — it pours through the large glass doors in the rooms, shifting beautifully throughout the day, and continues to define the public spaces too.
The pastel terracota tones flow seamlessly from the guest rooms to lobbies and terraces, giving the whole resort a sense of continuity and calm. Every detail, from the ceramics to the curves of the armchairs, feels intentional — a gentle reminder that great design isn’t just seen; it’s felt.
But what truly stayed with me was not just the design — it was the hospitality. Avali’s team has created a kind of service that feels both polished and deeply personal. There were small surprises everywhere: a welcome treat of local kumquat delicacies, beautifully presented; a turndown ritual that felt intimate and caring; and, on the morning of my very early flight, a breakfast basket waiting for me, thoughtfully prepared.

Guests on half-board can also discover the MarBella “Dine Around” experience, a concept that makes Avali part of a larger, elegant world. It allows visitors to dine at the restaurants of the other two MarBella properties — the family-friendly MarBella Resort and the adults-only Nido. A complimentary shuttle connects the three hotels, turning dinner into a small adventure across Corfu’s most stylish settings.
Whether you’re enjoying fine dining with a view or sipping a cocktail by a pool you haven’t yet seen, this culinary freedom adds an unexpected sense of variety and joy to each evening. It’s a hospitality system that feels as generous as it is seamless — proof that luxury, when done right, lies in the details.
Evenings of Greek Music and Island Soul
Every night at Avali had its own little story. The first evening, a Greek band played on the terrace — songs we all know by heart, the ones that make you hum softly and smile without realising.
The music carried over the pool, mixing with the sea breeze and the clinking of glasses. Guests from different corners of the world sat together, and for a while, everyone was part of the same island melody.
It was warm, emotional, and unexpectedly moving — one of those moments that stay with you.
Outdoor Spa and Wellness with a View of the Ionian Sea

There’s something magical about the open-air spa at Avali. Treatments take place under the shade of pine trees, with a view of the sea glimmering in the distance. The sounds of nature become part of the experience — birds, waves, wind.
It’s not just about relaxation; it’s about reconnection. The kind of slow wellness that doesn’t ask you to disconnect from the world, but to notice it again.
Beachfront Pavilions and Private Moments by the Water
One of my favourite corners was the line of wooden pavilions by the beach — each one with its own sunbeds, privacy, and view. I spent hours there, reading, swimming, daydreaming. The atmosphere was peaceful, unpretentious, and deeply restorative.
Here, nobody hurries. Days unfold softly, in shades of turquoise and gold.
